Our overall goal is to incentivize lucid dreaming advancements by allowing people to monetize their lucid dreams through minting tokens while in the dream state.
There's much to be discovered in lucid dream research. By creating a way to monetize lucid dreaming, we can motivate researchers, creators, and citizen scientist to discover ways to reach lucidity more effectively and explore the potential of lucid dreaming.
For our first project we are creating NFT art pieces where each art piece is minted from a lucid dream using lucid dream communication. Each attribute of the piece, for example a holographic skin, can only be created if the lucid dreamer sends a predefined signal from the lucid dream.
This means that some art pieces are more difficult to create if the signals are more difficult to send. Because of this difficulty, there is an inherent rarity in lucid dream minted tokens. This differs from most NFT projects which are made artificially rare by the amount the creator decides to mint.
It's true that while in a lucid dream, the Rapid Eye Movement(REM) state paralyzes the dreamer. However, dreamers do have motor control of breath, fist clenching, and eye movements. For this reason lucid dreamĀ communication has been done through sniffing, eye movement, and fist clenches.
Biosensors, like electrodes, can detect these signals. A program can then hook into an api to handle those signals and parse them into meaningful commands such as morse code.
I'm Dashiell Bark-Huss, a collaborator and participant in lucid dream research at Northwestern. There, I sent the first lab verified swear word from a lucid dream to researchers. That word was ASS.
I'm currently working on tech to enable communication between a dreamer and a computer.
Outside of lucid dreaming, I'm and entrepreneur and software developer.
